We arrived at SeaTac airport at 4:15 Friday and finally landed in Sydney at 6:20am on Sunday (ok, so it was 1:20pm Saturday Seattle time, but that's still a looooong time to be traveling!)
Our flights were thankfully uneventful and both left on time (we connected in LAX). However, we both agree that United has the most uncomfortable seats on the planet and the least legroom of any airline we've ever flown...not great for a 14.5 hour redeye flight over the Pacific! Here's Lynette, trying desperately to get some shuteye...she's really not as incredibly comfortable as she looks!
We finally arrived in Sydney to find that all our bags made it. Yay! We bought travel passes for the trains, buses and ferries that make navigating Sydney MUCH easier than navigating Seattle (there's a saga to the travel passes, but that can wait) and headed into downtown Sydney to catch the ferry to Manly where Lynette's sister lives. The ferry goes right through Sydney harbor and it was a beautiful sunny (cold) day. Here is Sydney Harbor Bridge
and of course the Opera House
Ok, we're running out now, so we'll post more pictures of Manly, which we explored Sunday evening, later!

Ooooh, pretty! That must've been a long ride to Australia, but if I went to Australia I bet I would like to see things close up.
OMG! You guys are so lucky to be taking this trip together....I am so jealous. Love the Blog Idea!
